Challenge
A consumer brand preparing a Netherlands launch had catalogue pages and shipping ready, but almost no Dutch editorial footprint. Paid social could drive early traffic. Organic discovery in Dutch search needed local mentions that did not look bolted on.
The brand's global SEO playbook leaned on English guest posts. That approach would not answer Dutch queries. Category pages risked launching with a backlink profile that looked foreign to both users and search systems.
They needed Dutch-language articles on publishers their customers recognise, without rushing into low-quality .nl inventory to hit a launch date. Legal and brand teams also required review of every claim before publication.
Approach
We treated the engagement as market entry support, not a raw link count exercise. Criteria emphasised topical fit for shoppers and lifestyle readers, plus Ahrefs DR 25+ and traffic floors that excluded thin domains. The client reviewed samples before committing budget.
Content leaned practical and editorial: guides and category-adjacent pieces in native Dutch, with the brand introduced where a recommendation or example was natural. A portion of the mix used niche edits where strong indexed articles already existed.
Reporting stayed in a live sheet shared with the local marketing lead and the central SEO team, so launch planning and link delivery stayed aligned week to week. Brand and legal signed off on drafts on a fixed turnaround so publishers were not left waiting.
